Expectations were met, but I had a few hey!... I read the books first time around 8-10, read the whole series 4-5 times since next 40 years. I enjoyed first movie even if it was not the best actor play and book is so hard to adapt, but mostly enjoyed it because I read book first. I have a few complaints though on this one... Why does actress Jessica cries or seem over emotive? She is Bene Gesserit, she is supposed to restrain from emotivity, and not act like that. Why in hell does the imperial man liyet becomes a fremen woman in this movie??? Actor of this role in the first movie adpatation was so charismatic it was a great deception to watch in this one. His role in the book was far more deep. I really don't understand why they kill the character I liked however the effort to introduce extra scenes, even if deviant from initial book, to actually allow the audience more comprehension of the book parts. So apart from a few suprises, it does live up to the book majesty Can't wait for second part

Such an improvement on the original 1984 version. Thankfully I had read the books before I saw that. This version seemed more in line with what I pictured in my head. Also, thought that there was a good balance between the fight scenes and the actual story. for me I appreciated that the fight scenes weren't so long that I got bored and wanted to turn the movie off.

Boring and all human characters. They spent so much to pay for the A-List actors that they had none left for anything else. Too much talking and barely any action. I didn't read any of the LOTR books and still enjoyed it a lot, but then likewise, I didn't read the Dune books and found the movie to be really bad, go figure.
