It reminds me of Blair Witch, only made by 8 year old kids about an alien. Could not follow any semblance of story. Disjointed. Teaches kids it's ok to break into places and destroy them. Would not recommend and wish I could either get a refund or remove it from my movies list. Probably would have been better made if the producers had given a bunch of cameras to a bunch of real kids.

Saw this during the summer after hearing comparisons to ET and the Goonies. But it was dull and derivative of better films. The story was weak and the acting terrible-even for child actors (think Jake Loyd). To make matters worse, it was shot using lost footage, shaky cam. Everyone in my party left the theater nauseated.

Story is good but filming and acting are crappy. book = 4 stars, movie = 1 star. What a way to ruin a good story. The movie was filmed using an amateur camcorder, similar to Blair Witch Project. If you can stand watching a movie with a moving camera, you will also find the characters gray and boring. Definitely the book does a better job of telling the story
