Viggo Mortensen and David Cronenberg.....a perfect team. The bath house scene set a new standard for movies. Mortensen deservedly received his first Academy Award Nomination for Best Actor. He adeptly balances the inner personas of Nikolai.... one minute he is cold and devoid of basic humanity.....while the next minute he is able to touch your heart.

Amazing performance by Viggo
