About this movie

Novella McClure (Meggie Maddock) is like most struggling actresses in Los Angeles: she's in her early 30s, her fake name sounded cooler ten years ago, and she hasn't landed a role in three years. She's living off the inheritance of her father, who tragically died when she was young, but that nest egg is running dry. Her motherly landlord, Eesha (Maru Garcia), doesn't know whether to kick Novella to the streets or let her live there for free.

Novella is tired of one crappy audition after another, but is held back by Candice (Ali Frances), her unstable best friend. Candice gave up on her dreams years ago and will be damned if Novella does too. To make matters worse, Novella keeps running into Tracy Armstrong (Dakota Pike); the beautiful "it girl" who books job after job (and not because of her acting abilities, if you know what I mean).

The pressure and stress mounts on Novella. Her nervous habit of biting her fingernails is turning into something much more serious and bloody.

Novella hides this condition from everyone around her, but it’s getting harder to do so with rotten bandages and missing appendages. But there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. One night, while clubbing with Candice, Novella meets a guy named Simon (Jeremy Make). Simon is a charming Doctor and the first guy Novella has met in ages who doesn’t just want to get in her pants.

Can Dr. Simon help Novella through her hardships and overcome her disorder? Or will this fatal dysfunction continue to eat away at her until it’s too late?

Very low budget, gore is extremely fake looking. What about the pain issue? Very little pain eating yourself?

I liked this way more than I was expecting to, given the premise.
