Mel Gibson plays a well-respected Boston cop whose life is changed irrevocably when his daughter is shot by a bullet supposedly meant for him. Driven to seek the truth and to reap vengeance on those responsible, he uncovers a dangerous world of corporate cover-ups, government collusion and murder. Ray Winstone also stars as a shady government agent who assists him in the investigation, but with suspicious motives. From the director of CASINO ROYALE and based on the acclaimed BBC series, EDGE OF DARKNESS is a tense, action packed revenge thriller in the vein of TAKEN and LAW ABIDING CITIZEN.

Felt a bit like the thriller Cop movie's of old in the 'Dirty Harry' sense. Kept my attention from beginning till end, not too over the top, however, a excellent script keeps your involvement in the movie, even if you feel your getting nothing original. Mel Gibson's acting is still displayed at it's best with the fast pace which keeps you wanting for more.Lay relaxed on your couch in the knowledge your in for a good few hour's of entertainment.

I would recommend this movie as I liked it from the beginning to the end. Gripping, with an unpredictable story, good direction and excellent performances.

But there's a slightly dark or perhaps more accurately, manipulative message in this film which is more about the actor than the characters!
