It tells the love story between Sulamit (Celeste Cid), the daughter of Jewish German immigrants, and Friedrich (Max Riemelt), the son of a Nazi German immigrant, who meet during their adolescence in Buenos Aires during the 1950s. Their love takes place against the backdrop of the great political changes in Germany in 1968 and the military dictatorship in Argentina.
