Film honi buruz

In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium – but that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. Max (Matt Damon) agrees to take on a life threatening mission, one that could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Enjoyable feel good action movie, with a compelling story that takes you in. Matt Damon is clearly suited to this kind of role and plays the character Max in a convincing manner; supporting actors are quality also. Definitely worth the money. The only criticism I have, is a personal dislike of the bumpy camera view that many films now use; I understand it is used to add texture to the scene, but personally I find it distracting and a touch nauseating.

immature attempt on the box office cash cow by attaching a seemingly profound social commentary that's convoluted and without resolve. Unlike the previous work with resolute passion, this "could be" epic is definitely a gem ruined by production studio heads that want explosions and special fx because they have nothing to input, except their desire for money.

After the success of District 9, Elysium is a bit of a let down. Horrible acting from Jodi Foster and the cliche South African bad guy, combined with more plot holes than you can count, makes this film a bit of a nonstarter.
