Empathy, Inc. explores a unique dystopian future where virtual reality technology gives users the opportunity to fill the shoes of a less fortunate individual. The mysterious tone, which eerily parallels our current times, is strengthened by the ominous electronic music that is used throughout the film. Omri Anghel, who produced the score, lends himself to an innovative reality that continuously drew my attention during the entire film. In appreciation of such music, I would like to suggest Empathy, Inc. as an example of instrumental mastery.

The whole concept of empathy that is seen Empathy, Inc. is very intriguing, as it is very dependent on a person’s class status. Joel, a middle class businessman, is presented with the opportunity to invest in an extreme virtual reality device. The product of an extreme virtual reality is marketed to those who have more of an elite, upper or middle class status; these people are so detached from the realities that lower class people experience that they need a device to create the empathy that they have been lacking. It is a startling awakening that calls attention to what society is missing. I felt that this film did an excellent job of showing that if people experienced more empathy towards others in their daily lives, they would benefit from that. Along with its interesting plotline, I recommend Empathy, Inc. for its realistic depiction of our class system.

A mix between sci-fi and horror, Empathy, Inc, astonishingly tells a story about a man who loses his job and reputation, who then takes a chance of a lifetime to join an Extreme Virtual Reality company. Following this decision, he soon is immersed in a web of lies and trickery. I was incredibly impressed with the talent the actors exhibited in this film. Especially with the difficult task to portray several characters throughout the movie, these actors have a level of discipline that is hard to achieve. Zack Robidas, who plays the main character, demonstrates extreme skill in his performance in the film and is definitely an actor to look out for. This unique film is one of a kind and I can't help but to recommend this movie!
