Dito Montiel's Empire State follows the story of a young New Yorker (Liam Hemsworth), who takes up a job as a security guard with the Empire State Armoured Truck Company after failing to secure a job with the NYPD. After discovering that he is able to use his position to his advantage, he is drawn into an elaborate scheme to rob his company, resulting in the largest cash heist in U.S. History. Chris' (Hemsworth) life is then turned upside down as he struggles to escape from NYPD agent James Ransone (Dwayne Johnson), who is attempting to find evidence against him, and local crime bosses, both of which are hot on his trail.
