Meer oor hierdie fliek

In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young minds to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is recruited to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military's next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer himself to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race. 2013 Ender's Game Holdings LLC. While I did enjoy this film, I think it could have been far better if it had followed the book more closely. Now I know there are annoying people that always say this just to let you know they read books, but I've read 8 books so I'm no bookworm. It's rare for me to say this but the book was a lot better. If you've read the book then the film will disappoint you, but I still found it worth watching. If you haven't read the book and liked the film even a little bit and even if you don't read much I'd suggest giving the book a try. (This is based on the assumption that as you chose this film you like this genre).

Story line is obvious, predictable and children being 'the chosen one' is a bit old now, all the actors could do is cry or shout pretty much. Also there is no clear reason why the chosen one is the chosen one, they just kind of skip that bit... Seriously bad its cringe worthy, oh and did I mention the rubbish and anticlimactic ending.....this has not made me want to read the book though it could be good to be fair.

This had a certain "Hunger Games" in space potential. In my opinion (and just mine) it fails to create any real tension and left me completely disappointed. If you like serious, well thought out Sci Fi, don't be suckered in by the opening premise... It really fails to deliver.
