I wish I could take away stars from other reviews. I had such high hopes for this movie. The books are my absolute favorite. As a young nerd, I had dreamed of these books becoming these glorious movies. The colors of Avatar, meets the CGI gold that is Smaug (from The Hobbit. Duh) is what played out in my head when. My hopes and dreams were crushed. This was like the creepy sock puppet show from your childhood nightmares meets a middle school play trying to perform the Count of Monte-Cristo, meets puff the magic dragon. To say that it was butchered is an under statement. The acting was terrible, the script poorly written. The book was NOT followed. I was honestly shocked they even tried to stick to the original description of Saphira. My only hope is that they do nothing with it for another 15-20 years so the pain of the abomination that this is can heal from the open, festering, emotional wound this god awful thing created. Then after a VERY extended period of time, maybe try it again. Do not waste your time on this one. Unless you want to have a story to tell about the movie that scarred your imagination and made you lose faith in books being turned to movies ever ever again.

At first this movie comes off as a "Lord of the Rings Lite," but when viewed from the context of a parent and fantasy lover it really is quite enjoyable. These are the types of movies I grew up with and won't mind sharing with my own children someday; while not a bastion of great writing, acting, or anything else film-worthy, it's still a good old-fashioned "farm boy becomes hero" fantasy. With dragons. Always a plus, dragons.

Unbelievable. I wish I could give zero stars immediately. On YouTube after sign in with my account, I think own this kids movie is $14.99 HD, everyday. It was looking horrible watching in digital content. Awful adaptation to the private scenes, if I had this already in Blu-ray combo pack, 2017 special edition. My family missed watching the movie when I was 6 years old. I don’t think it’s enough room to fit in the digital library on Netflix kids! It does not exist on Netflix kids for a long time! This movie was done by ice age: the meltdown and night at the museum, studio by twentieth century fox home entertainment. And the tv show is done by Ben 10, Ben 10 alien force and Ben 10 omniverse. It’s good to open this video offline so you don’t have to worry about the internet connection. Aw, snap! Something went wrong while displaying this webpage.
