About this movie

Europa Report follows a contemporary mission to Jupiter's moon Europa to investigate the possible existence of alien life within our solar system. When unmanned probes suggest that a hidden ocean could exist underneath Europa's icy surface and may contain single-celled life, Europa Ventures, a privately funded space exploration company, sends six of the best astronauts from around the world to confirm the data and explore the revolutionary discoveries that may lie in the Europan ocean. After a near-catastrophic technical failure that leads to loss of communication with Earth, the astronauts must overcome the psychological and physical toll of deep space travel, and survive a discovery on Europa more profound than they had ever imagined. Acclaimed director Sebastián Cordero (Chronicles) illustrates what it would be like to venture to another planet and explores the biggest mystery facing humanity: are we alone? 2012 by Europa Ventures, LLC

Intelligent science fiction that doesn't give more credence to spectacle than to believable physics, and which still manages to pull off a visually stunning, suspenseful and intriguing story. No malicious monsters, alien viruses or stereotypes, no contrived human-interest subplots to pull in a broader audience. This is a ripping yarn that has not been compromised for the sake of a box office take, and regardless of how well this did in the theatres, it is, critically speaking, a worthy outing for those who like to think their way through a movie. And the music is brilliant.

a lot of floating around in a spaceship and talking. At times it hinted at action but never really got there and it was hard to enjoy. Different, and not very enjoyable

Enjoyable scifi with attention to detail that is rare in modern scifi. Only downer was it was so highly compressed the image quality was poor. The HD version was just 1.2GB. The same movie file on itunes is nearly 3 times as big and can be rented for exactly the same price so the istore is better value if quality matters.
