Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as Daniels, the film is a hilarious and big-hearted sci-fi action adventure about an exhausted Chinese American woman (Michelle Yeoh) who can't seem to finish her taxes.

The google play version of the movie does not include subtitles for the mandarin/cantonese portions of the movie. This means that unless you speak those languages, you will lose out on about 50% of the dialogue in the movie. Do not rent this version, as it is a scam and Google will not honor refund requests for an unwatchable product. The movie is fantastic in any other platform that includes the subtitles though, but as I couldn't watch it here, it gets 1 star.

Warning! Do not rent the movie on this platform if you need closed captioning, for you will be in for a very frustrating viewing experience. The dialogue often switches between English, Mandarin and Cantonese, but the closed captioning does not. You can either have cc displayed for the English dialogue or cc displayed for the Chinese dialogue, but not for both. Sorry, people with disabilities! I guess you cannot be deaf in both English and Chinese, you have to pick one! (Watched in Canada)

To begin even explaining this movie from the zaney ideas to the beautiful story telling. I wouldnt jusitfy just how well it encapsulates its premise with my words. The camera men deserve an oscar for the beautiful editing work, with music scoring that just elevates every scene. Truly a modern gem for this century. Give it a watch; enjoy the experince and journey it brings you on.
