關於這部電影

Alex Garland, writer of 28 Days Later and Sunshine, makes his directorial debut with the stylish and cerebral thriller, EX MACHINA. Caleb Smith (Domhnall Gleeson), a programmer at an internet-search giant, wins a competition to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the company's brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman (Oscar Isaac). Upon his arrival, Caleb learns that Nathan has chosen him to be the human component in a Turing Test—charging him with evaluating the capabilities, and ultimately the consciousness, of Nathan’s latest experiment in artificial intelligence. That experiment is Ava (Alicia Vikander), a breathtaking A.I. whose emotional intelligence proves more sophisticated––and more deceptive––than the two men could have imagined.

Very mind bending look at possible human interaction with functional AI. Reminded me a great deal of Bladerunner concept. I was absolutely fascinated by the characters and their dialogues and emotional tension. The fact that some of them are man made machines made that fascination all the more incredible and truly enjoyable. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys suspenseful movies with well formed character interaction and dialogue. The philosophical implications of AI are still being debated by many of the great minds of our time and this is a great look at what it could mean if some genius takes it into his own hands to test his hand at "being god" and lets the power go to his head. Absolutely Loved This Movie.

One of the best SF movies I've seen recently. Sits with Gattaca among my top-five favorites. Very deliberate pacing, with no action. Some viewers will be disturbed by the sexual themes in this movie but, just as in Splice, that's intentional. There's a purpose to all the elements in this film, even the disturbing ones, and it really elevates Ex Machina to a work of art. The ending feels rushed, but after some thought, it too may be more logical than it appears. Saying why would be a spoiler, though.

Awesome and smart. Special effects, acting, story, cinematography were all awesome, but the timeline was off. The story takes place over a week, when it makes more sense for it to take place over a month or two. There's also a silly dance scene that I thought felt out of place and unnecessary. If it wasn't for the ending--which was spot on--I would have thought this movie was stupid. But the ending is fantastic and makes this a must-see movie.
