Professor Albus Dumbledore (Law) weiß genau, dass der mächtige Zauberer Gellert Grindelwald (Mikkelsen) die Herrschaft über die Welt der Zauberer an sich reißen will. Er kann ihn jedoch nicht alleine aufhalten, also beauftragt er den Magizoologen Newt Scamander (Redmayne) damit, eine Gruppe bestehend aus Zauberern, Hexen und einem tapferen Muggel-Bäcker in einer gefährlichen Mission anzuführen. Dabei besteht immer die Gefahr, auf alte und neue Bedrohungen und sogar auf Grindelwalds wachsende Legion aus Gefolgsleuten zu treffen. Doch kann sich Dumbledore wirklich raushalten, wenn so viel auf dem Spiel steht?

Was sad to hear that they did the movie without Johnny Depp, but still purchased for $24.99, and was more disappointed to see that my favorite book/movie series to share with my children has been used to promote liberal alphabet soup brainwashing by ruinning a great character. Now Dumbledore was a gay guy who sought out troubled, unwanted loner little boys to take away with him to his castle. So wrong. I'm glad I preview for my kids.Hope that was the last prequel, because I'm not buying anymore.

Dont waste your time, worst movie ever. Guy who took over depp's part stunk at it. Was very slow. When I was watching I kept trying to fast forward the movie. Was horrible. Makes me not want to watch anymore additions to harry potter franchise. For me some of the actors didn't make the part their own. I wish I could given it a minus 2.

Basically Harry Potter meets Ocean's Eleven. While this may not be the strongest entry in the Fantastic Beasts trilogy (that honor goes to Crimes of Grindelwald in my opinion), it still is every bit as magical and thought-provoking. Though some of the trilogy's key cast are conspicuously absent, the reasons why are completely understandable considering the circumstances when the film was made. Honestly, it's amazing this film turned out this good given all the challenges it faced in production.
