Willis is a headstrong man living alone on an isolated farm. His mind is declining, so his son, brings him west, hoping to find him a home closer to his family. Best intentions ultimately run up against angry refusal to change his ways.

The acting is superb. The sets are beautifully designed. The camera work is skillful, dramatic, and poignant. I am, however, growing tired of these men with histories of arrogance and cruelty, who seem to be redeemed by a soft focus ending with lovely piano notes at the closure.

Falling is a marvel and Viggo Mortensen truly is a master. Not only is he proficient as an actor and now director, but as an artist. As an admirer of art and film, my anticipation to see it was not misplaced. This film achieved a depth of emotion that in my (novice) opinion, is not easily discovered among movies today. Highly relatable, highly poignant, highly recommend. Every facet of this production was flawless, from the cast to the soundtrack.

Beautiful, emotionally tough at times, but never draining.
