À propos de ce film

Jessica and David disagree on vaccinating their daughter. After Jessica reacted badly to an injection during her pregnancy, she fears the same, or worse, for her toddler. With conflicting research mystifying the true risks of aluminium adjuvants, the couple must weigh evidence and speculation to do what they think best for their child. From pregnancy to infancy, Family Shots questions whether medical scientists are giving us the whole picture.

It felt intimate and truthful, but very superficial on the research and importance of vaccines. Aluminium was built up as a major issue that caused a lot of strife but there was little to no education to the viewer regarding the actual impact of diseases that we vaccinate against. Basically the parents decided to be afraid of aluminium instead of being afraid of diseases that could kill their child. The experts provided were rapidly ignored and their words considered irelevant until we get to Peter Aaby who is given ample time to provide advice and lead the protagonists to finally use some vaccines. I appreciate the tone is pro-vaccines overall but the fact that the kids are still insuficiently vaccinated is disappointing.
