About this movie

Professor Albus Dumbledore (Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

Watched yesterday and got to say its total rubbish. I fell asleep waiting for something to actually happen, which took 68 minutes of waffling to get through. If you took away the " potter" theme tune this would be classed as junk. They should of included more of the "potter" connections to give it some bite but seriously who is scared of any of these characters. The only thing I liked about it, was the end and my sleep in the middle of it . 1/10

My husband and I watched this the day it was released for home viewing, then watched it the next night as there was so much to take in. We have watched it another two times and will watch it again. The sets are wonderful, Mads Mikkelsen is excellent as Grindelwald (sorry, Johnny, this guy is scary), the Potter story is a little fuller, we find out more about Dumbledore and the magic is still there.

I had so many issues with this movie, firstly Grindelwald, he's basically a b grade Voldemort, there's nothing interesting about him. Sure the time period coincides with Hitler's rise to power and there are parallels between Hitler and Grindelwald... With the whole nationalist outsider running for office. Its supposed to be an allegory, warning about fascism, there nothing wrong with that , so many great fantasy movies have good messages but this one is a total snoozefest
