In this hilarious, authentically feminist take on the coming-of-age dramedy, Farah, a private and unassuming Iranian-American, hits the campaign trail for John Kerry with her two best friends: hotheaded KJ and political junkie Roopa. As the twentysomethings take their door-to-door campaigning road trip to the battleground state of Ohio, they also embark on a side quest to get rid of Farah’s pesky virginity. Along the way, Farah experiments with representations of her ethnic identity while searching for intimacy, KJ tries to reconcile her tragic past with the possibility of a better future, and Roopa just wants to hold everyone together in this smart, irreverent winner of the inaugural Nora Ephron Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
