Director Carl Reiner has a comic go at the recent spree of erotic crime thrillers... Cop Armand Assante is assigned to investigate a "kinky" murder. He is also, improbably, the prosecuting attorney. The resident femme fatale in the case is Sean Young. Meanwhile, Assante's wife (Kate Nelligan) is plotting her husband's demise in a BODY HEAT mode. Tony Randall appears as an (amusing) judge. The effective (if not quite serious) jazz score is performed by Clarence Clemons, who appears onscreen during crucial plot moments to toot his sax. Look for "homages" to PRETTY WOMAN, CAPE FEAR, DOUBLE INDEMNITY and others, including, of course, FATAL ATTRACTION.
