Depp was great, as was Benicio! Hunter S. Thompson even said that Depp was brilliant, and the two became close friends afterwards & until Hunter offed himself! The special effects were so-so at best, but it's to be expected because of the times.

We can't stop here, this is may country! one of my all time favorite movies and books for that matter something avoid them both speak to me on a truly deep level. Savage , very funny and somewhat touching well at least to me . R.i.p Hunter S Thompson and Oscar zeta Acosta

This is a rare one that has to go in reverse order. If you watch the movie first, you have visuals. If you then read the book, it explains that it is all true and as you read, you will cry laughing. Promise!
