Some people build fences to keep people out - and other people build fences to keep people in. Great movie directed and acted by a great actor. Viola Davis´ performance is equally great. The film describes the relationship of a 53 year old black father back in the fifties, working hard in a low paid job, trying to deal with the challenges of growing up as a black boy who had a violent father, left home with 14, got into stealing and after 15 years of jail tried to make the best life he could, in the difficult circumstances black men were facing at that time, raising his children to the best of his believes. Still coping with all the disappointments life threw at him whilst hoping for his children to have a better life.

It is quite realistic. However i still feels that the shooting technique is not good enough. In face to face confrontation boy would stare in dad's eyes, although he is trembling. That scene is not good enough, really.

Me parecio excelente riene una trama tan abierta al drama que sin dudas me parecio excelente me parecio una obra de arte y con un final bastante bueno y no tan triste a mi me encanto cuando el viejo negro se murio 😂😂😂😂😂😂pero en enserio me parecio excelente le pongo 4 estrellas porque yo solo la vi por la tv y si la tubiera le daria 5 estrellas pero tambirn les doy una puntuacion de un 8/9
