About this movie

In this film version of the stage musical, based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem, Tevye the Milkman is a Jewish peasant in pre-Revolutionary Russia trying to support his family and maintain his Jewish tradition under a Czar that would like to run his people out of town. Tremendous songs and memorable dance sequences make this film a true classic.

I don't even know why but I love this film and play. I like Octavia's humor I guess, his sly way of talking to God and arguing with his wife. Octavia just reminds me of people I know in a funny way.

At my high school they did this musical. I was a russian dancer, even though I couldnt dance. But it was lots of fun. The movie is a classic and has a wide range of enjoyable music like matchmaker, to life, and sunrise sunset. Oh and most important of all... Tradition!!
