Solid film. Rami Malek plays a good LA detective in a suit. Not as good as Guy Pearce (LA Confidential) but I'd say Malek's 1B. to Pearce's 1A. Nothing tops that; particularly since Pearce was surrounded by an A-list cast from Danny Devito to Kim Basinger not to mention Russell Crowe and Kevin Spacey. If you watch the film; you definitely get that LA Confidential vibe all the way through. But where it falls short of perfection (LA Confidential) is that it's squarely focused on two cops solving a crime where (not to give it away) the path the both of them travel down; only leads inward.

Considering the awesome cast that this film has, I was hoping for something spectacular....nope....sadly it did not deliver. This was honestly the first movie I was excited to see for a good while considering COVID pretty much killed Hollywood (and I hope they stay dead). But this had all the look of something akin to the next Seven. But sadly it was a dud...great actors wasted their talent on this turd. Of course Leto (who was completely underused imo) will still probably win an Oscar.

From the trailers and beginning of the movie, you would think its your typical hero detective solving a serial killer case but, if you watch it entirely, you will understand the meaning of no angels or the little things that get you caught. very good movie.
