About this movie

Nobel Prize-winner Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn chronicles his own existence as a political prisoner, telling of torturous conditions and treatments which have never previously been revealed. His writings have been banned in Russia, he has been condemned by the government, yet his works are smuggled out and read the world over. This adaptation for the screen was written and directed by Polish director Alexander Ford.
