About this movie

The true story of purposeful, people-driven businesses taking on Wall Street's obsession with "FISHING WITH DYNAMITE" -- the pursuit of short-term, easy profits to maximize shareholder value at the expense of employees, customers, suppliers, and communities. Diverse leaders and thinkers inspire a new generation to take back American capitalism.

Strong film. I learned a lot about businesses and how it’s in their best interest to be stewards of their homes and their people groups (shareholders, corporate workers, and clients). I also found it to be a really well executed film. There wasn’t a lot of fluff, it looked good, and it sounded good. I found the graphic/animated representations of business to be mediocre but it did help to tell the story.

How can we create a thriving American economy where everyone within the system benefits? And can it actually be done? Fishing with Dynamite would argue that it can! Capitalism with morals is the answer to the issue at hand. When I first heard about FOD, I was skeptical. The media has painted capitalism in such a negative light for so long that I didn't believe my opinion could or would be changed. However, after watching the film, I do believe that with more conscious business owners (like some of those highlighted in the film) capitalism CAN be used for good. When every individual that supports a business is treated as if they matter, the whole system benefits. If you're skeptical about how capitalism can be ethical and benefit everyone involved, I highly recommend watching Fishing With Dynamite

One of the better documentaries on capitalism I’ve seen! Of course, Fishing with Dynamite pitches capitalism in its ideal form, and rarely do economic systems function ideally. But the stakeholder model was an interesting way to conceptualize capitalism and made me more inclined to root for this style of economics.
