A ragtag crew of such unlikely associates as Jacques (Fabian) and Fergusson (Sir Cedric Hardwicke) race across uncharted African territory in a unicorn-shaped balloon. Accompanied by playboy American reporter Donald O'Shay (Red Buttons), the explorers are sidetracked, snared and drawn into battle with slaves, sneezing sultans, and sandstorms.
