A great story ruined.... Christian Bales display as the great Ken Miles is an absolute atrocity. Matt Damon as the great Carroll Shelby is not much better and for me completely ruins Shelby's reputation. The opportunity to make a great film was thrown in the garbage and ends up being, boring and almost unwatchable mess closely competing with Dunkirk as another fantastic piece of history destroyed through an abomination of a film.

Excellent film: good story, fantastic acting, the racing scenes are incredibly well done. But, for me, I find pouring so much time, money and effort into seeing how fast you can go around a track somewhat pointless. And it's hard to take seriously people who make it their whole life. Especially when the drivers back then so often lost their lives. Ken Miles was an example. He had a young kid at the time he died. If you had your priorities straight, wouldn't you want to stay alive to be a father to your young son? This isn't the fault of the movie, just a values thing. That's why it loses a star for me.

I love Nathan Mcully's review. The fact that the film is 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, nominated for Academy Awards, good reviews, Christian Bale was nominated for Best Actor awards contradicts his review.
