What has happened to us? Despite the most advanced medical technology in the world, we are sicker than ever by nearly every measure.

Two out of every three of us are overweight. Cases of diabetes are exploding, especially amongst our younger population. About half of us are taking at least one prescription drug. Major medical operations have become routine, helping to drive health care costs to astronomical levels. Heart disease, cancer and stroke are the country's three leading causes of death, even though billions are spent each year to "battle" these very conditions. Millions suffer from a host of other degenerative diseases.

Could it be there's a single solution to all of these problems? A solution so comprehensive but so utterly straightforward, that it's mind-boggling that more of us haven't taken it seriously?

FORKS OVER KNIVES examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the so-called "diseases of affluence" that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline in the film traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering yet under-appreciated researchers, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.

Has a lot of good points but don't take people at their word even if they are "experts". It is a little irresponsible to declare that anyone who stops eating meat will be cured from disease. My grandfather had easily treatable cancer but was afraid of surgery. When he heard that changing his diet would cure his cancer he followed that route, only to die several months later because the cancer spread throughout his body. As Mark Twain said, "Be careful reading health books, you may die of a misprint."

This passes off many opinions as fact as well as making sweeping generalizations that barely have any connection to the topic. The summery of this film that eating fats and sugars in moderation, eating vegetables and fruit, and exercising is good for you. Those who follow this film blindly are gullible fools who lack any understanding of any of the sciences. Lessons can be learned from this film but not be taken completely to heart.

Quack, quack, quack went "Dr." Campbell. He makes many unfounded assertions, claims and outright lies. His own research does not support his claims. I challenge anyone who is curious as to the veracity of his claims to read his actual research papers. You will find no support for his outlandish conclusions from his own research. He is utterly biased and motivated in all of his assertions regarding health. He holds a doctorate but makes a mockery of the scientific method in order to support his biases.
