When decorated Army medic and single mother Maggie Swann returns home from an extended tour in Afghanistan she attempts to reconcile her duties as a mother and her obligations as a soldier. Struggling to reclaim the affection of her 5 year-old son she attempts to build a solid foundation on which to re-establish ties to her past, but when she receives news of an impending deployment it threatens the very balance of her already fragile family life.
