Boris Karloff stars as the screen's most memorable monster in what many consider to be the greatest horror film ever made. It's director James Whale's adaptation of the Mary Shelley novel blended with Karloff's compassionate portrayal of a creature groping for identity that makes Frankenstein a masterpiece not only of the genre, but for all time.

It may creak here and there in places, but its still - and forever will be - the quintessential, defining portrait of an outcast wanting only warmth. Brilliant as ever.

Saw this when i was a young kid. I felt sorry for the monster and cried :) but this and Dracula are where my love of horror began.

This film is very creative but still it does add characters that weren't even in the book
