When Lindsay Lohan had her stuff together she put out good stuff like this modern day update of a classic. The rebellious rocker chick teen is at odds with her psychotherapist career woman mom. Jamie Curtis shows how good she can be as a middle aged woman with a wild child teen heart. And Mark Harmon is the dreamy stepdad-to-be thrown into the middle of this firestorm. The music makes a good show of its own. Pure rock, no crappy tuneless hip hop.

Normally remakes can be pretty bad, but this one was actually quite good. A fairly strong supporting cast and amusing dialogue are what really helped this film maintain its quality. Its a great family comedy.
