Ellie is a 16-year-old attempting to assert her independence from her mom. Katherine is a mother struggling to understand her stubborn teenage daughter. A confrontation arises when Katherine won't allow Ellie to join "The Hunt," an all-night scavenger quest. Upon wishing the other would change their ways, they magically swap bodies through the power of an hourglass. Now, the two must spend the day in each other's shoes while they hunt down the matching hourglass that in order to swap bodies back to their true selves.

This is a terrible version of this movie. I enjoyed the Lindsay Lohan/Jaime Lee Curtis movie a gazillion times more. While I'm aware that "Freaky Friday" has been produced as a musical in the past, this should've been advertised as a musical because it certainly looked like it was going to be a good MOVIE to my kids and myself; but, it turned out to be one of the worst musicals I've seen....better luck next time Disney!!

Just finished watching the new Freaky Friday movie on disneynow and i gotta say i didnt like it was deffinitley a 1 time movie. No more of this movie for me. Theres been so many good disney channel movies. My favs are Invisible Sister, Adventures in Babysitting, Starstruck, Zombies, Cloud 9, the Descendants movies, High School musical series, and of course lots of the older disney movies. Also i like musical movies especially with the High School Musical movies and the Descendants movies but yea this is just ok i dont even really know how to explain it lol.

People are too overly critical these days. This was a good fun movie. Sure it had a made for TV vibe but Disney's made for TV style movies are usually still pretty good. Everyone posting negative reviews needs to take a deep breath and just stop overthinking so much.
