About this movie

Set in a future-world where people pay to “play” convicts in virtual war games, Kable (Butler) is a star player. Imprisoned for life, Kable could win his freedom if he survives a total of 30 games. Operated by a wealthy teenager (Lerman) but up against unforeseen odds, Kable’s success and defeat is a mission for many... strings attached.

The ideas are frankly more interesting then the film. The one problem I have is in the screwiest of ways... It protrays gamers as the most morally reprehensible member of socity... No seriously look as who is doing the terrible terrible stuff... consider who is doing that... Look the title really doesn't work it. But I suppose all the good sci fi mind control titles have been long since taken. Frankly... I have to wonder if the writer has every played an fps. No really they seem to have no concept of "Game Balance" just oh THAT BE SO COOL. Factors. Which nothing wrong with being a gear fanboy... but wasting two minutes explaining what blank round does and why its so dangerous... is a waste of time. No seriously. It is.

I wanted to like this more... Love the premise but it wastes its potential with a convoluted take over the world scenario... Only serves to water down the action.

Would be cool to "drone" walk characters...screw these controller warriors, this would be the way to video game!!! Anytime you can find a way to make a movie with the Dean of Mean Keith Jardine you know it's an instant classic.
