This modern take on the classic fairy tale retells the story of a knight named George (James Purefoy) who is on a quest to save a no-nonsense princess, named Lunna (Piper Perabo). For age appropriate restrictions: this film is suitable for kids age 10 and up for mild intense action. Now, the aspects of this film that are impressively decent enough is that the story here has some clever plot twists, and it does have a happy ending (no spoilers), but sadly, the story is ultimately let down, because the story does not make much sense, there is not much of a moral to the story (does not bring positive messages), there is not much depth to give us answers to the questions like, Why did the dragon took Princess Lunna to her cave? Why does the antagonist want to marry the Princess. (Okay, so there are 2 answers to the questions that we want to know about the characters, but not all or every single one of them). It drags on a bit by lost muddled plotting in some places. And there is very little character development, the characters are silly in an unfunny way. Even though the dragon designs are accurate to the nostalgia of fairy tale dragons, the CGI was lazily rendered and was poorly implemented. Their is not much to say about the music score, it's just big and thematic, the score is decently solid though. It does have some good direction, and there is some decent writing. As a whole: there is not much detail in the film, which makes the movie boring. I wasn't that bored, but I was not entertained or even inspired either. For recommendation: the film has been let down by it's unremarkable flaws. although that doesn't mean that your kids won't want to see it. They wouldn't care for what the story has, but you might want to talk to them about how the movie is made, because of the CGI. Worth a Rental.

Very enjoyable, interesting to see Swayze in the role he plays as well. Good enough to purchase.
