I love disaster movies. Cheesy films like 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow are mindlessly fun because they are over the top and just awful in the best ways with hammy acting and completely unbelievable scenarios. I can't get enough. So when Geo Storm came out I was expecting another fine helping of disaster porn. But that's not what I got. If you just want to see the disaster parts of this film then go on to YouTube and search for compilation videos of the collected disaster moments. These videos are about five minutes long. The rest of the film is "look I'm a science guy who knows everything and who hates my brother oh my god do I hate that jerk oh wait I need him just kidding I like him now SELF SACRIFICE TIME IMI THE KING OF THE WORLD!" There. You've now seen the whole movie. You're welcome. Seriously, I like the cheesy disaster movies on SyFy that have a budget of five dollars. They're at least bad in a hilarious way. Geo Storm is bad in a "wow... and you guys really were trying pretty hard too. That's... unfortunate" way. It's bad. You'll feel dumber for having watched it. I even yelled at the TV just to drown out the "brothers'" (seriously, they look NOTHING alike) bickering.

Definitely a must-see!!! I am a disaster movie nut, so I was really excited to add this to my collection. What I didn't realize was that this movie was so much more than the typical disaster movie. It actually had a decent plot, and the special effects were dramatic and well done, without being over the top - making this film quite unique. So unless you forget that this is a sci-fi flick, you'll definitely enjoy it. I've probably watched this movie 15 times, and each time I watch it, I notice something new. Definitely among my top three favorite disaster movies.

I really enjoyed this movie. The cast & production is gorgeous and is similar to MEG imo; with lots of pretty colored eye candy here. This is a 2nd string, B-team effort. Copying director Roland Emmerichs mega budget disaster films such as 2012 & The Day After Tomorrow. Ironically, Geostorm is directed by Roland Emmerichs old producing partner Dean Devlin. So, this movie is really trying to be like big brother and constantly winking at, mostly yelling, "Hey, look at me Bro! I'm just like you."💯
