Film honi buruz

When Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), a young African-American man, visits his white girlfriend's (Allison Williams) family estate, he becomes ensnared in the more sinister, real reason for the invitation. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined. This speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of The Visit, Insidious series and The Gift) and the mind of Jordan Peele (Key & Peele) is equal parts gripping thriller and provocative commentary. - ( Original Title - Get Out )

Although it's fairly easy to see roughly where the film is going to end up, it's a gripping and creepy psychological horror that throws in some great ideas. I'd call this horror with a small 'h' - it's kind of Meet the Parents meets Hostel... There's definitely an element of satire / tongue in cheek running through the film as well as a light social commentary. The dialogue and characters move quickly from comically awkward social interaction to weird to outright creepy. The pace of the film never drags too much and gives you just enough of a peek into the insidious, dark goings on early on to keep you interested; it finalises quickly and the bad guys get theirs. If (like some people in the reviews section) you want some generic slasher film go elsewhere. Definitely worth watching.

Get out the most boringest films of 2017 so far. The film is so overhyped and the whole it's an amazing horror movie it's complete trash. Given I've done a two star it's only getting this because the plot is an great idea and deserves some credit for coveting the topic but the rest of the film, urgh it's so bad. The actors did a good job portraying the characters but the whole rush of the run seemed so unreal. Especially the whole "attack" was complete rubbish honestly. The whole making the man under a spell was so unneeded in the film. There is so much more bad things with this film but there is no need to go on about it. If you're someone who gets scared easy watch it because you can't get scared. The film is just a waste of time and to be honest it's not worth watching.

This is an amazing move. Understated but ever so satisfying when it all comes to ahead. This was the first movie ever to get me to literally shout "GET OUT!!!" at the screen. And it was not because a damn fool went somewhere they shouldn't have but because of a genuine sense of unseen dread. That feeling when you know you have to run but you don't quite know why logically. I have never been so empathetic with a character. No director has ever managed to truly get me into the mind space of the main character. I absolutely lost myself in this movie. You don't need gore and jump-scares to be truly afraid. Unless your nerves are built of steel. If psychological horror does not work on you, watch this as a thriller. I'm the opposite, gore just makes me roll my eyes and jump-scares barely get any reaction from me anymore. When it plays with my head though...
