I think Ive seen/read most of the incarnations of Motoko Kusanagis stories. And while some have failed to hit the target. At least they did aim for the barn. This american version however, I have no idea on what they were aiming at. Unless it was the paycheck? Images from the franchise is mixed and jumbled here. But none of the thought about why those images were in the franchise seem to be of concern for the studio. As long as the trailer looks decen they can be happy with dollar bills.

Absolutely worth seeing as long as you don't expect it to be EXACTLY like some other reviewers seem to expect. The philosophy isn't as deep as the original, however in my opinion it isn't as shallow as many claim. The philosophical implications of humanity and machines is more subtle and implied, rather than outright stated. It is visually and symbolically appealing and among the better Hollywood movies of the year.
