Set in the changing world of the late 1960's, GIRL INTERRUPTED is the searing story of Susanna Kaysen (Ryder), a young woman who finds herself at a renowned mental institution for troubled women. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name and directed by celebrated director James Mangold, GIRL INTERRUPTED features tour de force performance by todays most critically acclaimed young actors. Kaysen's prescribed "short rest" from a psychiatrist she had met only once becomes a strange, unknown journey into Alice's Wonderland, where she struggles with the thin line between normal and crazy. Strictly for grown ups, a slice of the human experience/frailty/ beauty of being. Acting, script, storyline.......all the essential elements are here to envelop us into another's story. I hope you get as much out of it as I did and more. For young people who feel misunderstood or that no one listens to them; or that they cannot identify with their peers or others this "link" may comfort and support them on their individual journey........

I love this film, AngelinaJolie plays her usual bad self & Winona Ryder is also excellent, Whoopi Goldberg was fantastic as a nurse too, great cast. Highly recommended, especially for anyone who's spent time as a patient in a psychiatric hospital.

James Mangold's direction makes for great character performances, particually Winona Ryder and Angaline Jolie and a very real, gritty, and emotnal story.
