Janey (Sarah Jessica Parker, Sex and the City) is new to Chicago, and soon meets Lynne (Helen Hunt, As Good As It Gets), who shares her passion for dancing and the show "Dance TV". Janey and Lynne are determined to audition for the show, but Janey's strict and conservative father won't let her go. Lynne talks her into sneaking out and Janey impresses the judges with her gymnastic ability and is paired up with blue-collar bad boy Jeff. Together they compete against the obnoxious rich girl Natalie who has her heart set on Jeff and wants to win the contest herself. A playful game of deception, jealousy and blackmail leads them to the final dance-off in this quintessential '80s 'chick flick' brimming with fun music, dancing galore and a support cast which includes Shannen Doherty (Beverly Hills 90210) and Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie's). © 1984 New World Pictures.
