Acerca de esta película

This is the exceptional story of America's first unit of African American soldiers during the Civil War and the young, inexperienced Northerner who's given the job of training and leading them. Based in part on the actual letters of that young officer and brought to life with astonishing skill and believability.

Civil war reenactor, Southern. This is actualy not only a great film, but It's good historicly. The uniforms are pretty good for the period, and in the battle scenes you can see how the south are kind of rag tag. The racism from the North and the South are shown. I'm glad the screenwritters showed that both sides were pretty far behind. Choosing not to supply black troops adaquetly was common practice.

Absolutely the Best Civil War movie! Historically accurate, Including the way Matthew Broadrick character was treated after he was slain. Racism shown on both sides. (Most people don't know that when war was declared, the citizen of New York lynched every unfortunate black man they saw, blaming them for the war. NO repercussion or arrest where made of the angry group of white New Yorkers.)

Excellent, it's rare to see one film Black troops in the Civil War. Much less those who were trained well. It hit home for me because my great grandfather fought in the Civil War. Gives you that warm, fuzzy, feeling.
