Johnny Saxby (Josh O'Connor) works long hours on his family's remote farm in the north of England. He numbs the daily frustration of his lonely existence with nightly binge-drinking at the local pub and casual sex. But when a handsome Romanian migrant worker (Alec Secareanu) arrives to take up temporary work on the family farm, Johnny suddenly finds himself having to deal with emotions he has never felt before. As they begin working closely together during lambing season, an intense relationship starts to form which could change Johnny's life forever. Captivating and broodingly beautiful, God's Own Country is the award winning debut feature from writer/director Francis Lee. Bracingly open hearted, this is a thrillingly romantic story set in the heart of rural Yorkshire. Whilst the cinematography was lovely, I have to say this film lacked a decent plot and any real dialogue. Not the worst film I've ever seen, but it's certainly not the best.

This is a film that grips your heart And takes you to a place far beyond your wildest dreams , everything about this film is perfect If the tears don't fill your eyes by the end your not human I could watch this film a million times over and still lose my self in it like it's the first time ! Brilliant Captivating sexy romantic sensitive !

Quite simply a beautiful movie. A story of a man who has never felt loved, learning to love someone else. Both the male leads are excellent. There is so little dialogue over the duration but everything is said through excellent camera work. A must see :-)
