Unbelievably brutally bad. The shitiest plot and writing ever. Beyond inconceivable. Affleck who is an excellent actor was at his all time worse....clearly did this piece of trash for the bucks. His co-star though saved this junker from completely going down the toilet.

Gone Girl is a study of psychotic behaviour, and a social commentary on today's media. It is also the art of filling a balloon with lots of air and then letting it empty itself rapidly into nothingness.

I think I give the plot away here, if that's a problem: I absolutely adored it. Amy has got to be my favorite psychopath. I found the last series of events that led up to the ending to be quite a stretch in comparison to the rest of the movie, which was so believable that it was wonderfully chilling. That last shot of Amy was wonderful. It's almost sickening, in a good way, how easy it is to connect to Amy's motivations as a woman. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that I've thought about it, Amy's plot, even before watching the movie. Dissapearing, or maybe dying and leaving your body to be found, just to destroy someone else. It's one of those fleeting thoughts; like, 'what would happen if I just stepped in front of that bus?' or 'if I jumped out the window?' something sick and terrible that you entertain, but only for a second but you're sure you would never do. Maybe that's why people love this movie, it's an awful secret fantasy, and it's all about power in the end. Everyone wanted to have it, and in the end she took it. That's why I can't get over this movie, she's so evil, so in control, all while looking so innocent. A true wolf in sheeps clothing.
