This was a very clever film on the way they did it. I felt it dragged too long and didn't have enough suspence to warrant a 2 hour film. Youre constantly on the edge of your seat waiting for something exciting to happen, but it doesn't. Just another twist. Twist after twist and no real substance. With a predictable 'cliff hanger' ending

Just another fairly boring seen it all before "thriller" . Elements of Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction etc thrown into the mix. Nothing original . Bland characterisations . I would say that it's possibly more of a chick flick given the narration of the lead female character throughout harking on about how let down she felt by married life etc etc. More like something out of desperate housewives than a psychological thriller. That being said I can't imagine any of my female friends finding this compelling viewing.

Be prepared for a fiercely intelligent thriller from director David Fincher, working from a cleverly designed screenplay by original source novelist Gillian Flynn. Gone Girl (2014) has a refreshing hyper realism and an undercurrent of wickedly subversive wit as the plot unfolds, subtly hinting at whether or not Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) has actually murdered his wife, Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike). It's also refreshing that all of the characters live within an moral area beyond "good" or "evil", making for a one of a kind cinematic experience. Hugely entertaining from start to finish.
