Despite being cut from its original eight hour length, it remains one of the greatest silent films ever produced. Features spectacular Death Valley locations. Inducted into the Library of Congress National Film Registry. Recently selected by the prestigious American Film Institute as one of the greatest American films of all time.

not an easy film to watch by any means but a hugely rewarding one ( especially in its 1999 restored four hour version which mixes the remaining live action footage with photo reconstructions of scenes that have been lost for decades) zasu pitts Gibson gowland and Jean hersholt each give performances that are amongest the greatest in all cinema. a great movie well worth watching( especially the 4 hour version ).
