A family fights for survival as a planet-killing comet races to Earth. John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and young son Nathan make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being leveled by the comet's fragments, the Garrity's experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.

Finally, a thinking person's disaster film! This is not what we've come to expect over the last several decades...the big, dumb Roland Emmerich action fests such as Independence Day or 2012 (although those were fun popcorn flicks that I really enjoyed, as I knew going what I was getting into when I bought my ticket) and it is so refreshing to watch something that is at least trying, and in many ways succeeding, to take it's subject seriously. Solid acting & realistic effects. Worth seeing!

Others here like to blame the acting or other things but they are a bunch of whiny brats that are mad because they paid more than they would get from Redbox. You all need to go to the Walmart section and rent out of the cheap bin. This movie was great but it was long and slow. You dont always get 10 out of 10 on every movie. Some of you are young and dont remember how we had to rent movies in the 80s. You win some you lose some. I got a lot of dud movies and low budget back then. Go read a book!

I purchased Greenland and have tried 5 or 6 Times to watch the movie keeps saying ( sorry, we're having trouble playing this video). Give it a try later. (Code 310) I would like full refund of the 5.99 please no sense in paying for something you can't use or watch
