"IF YOU SMOKED POT IN THE '70S, CHANCES ARE YOU GOT IT FROM ME AND MY BROTHER" - Terry Dougherty. Grounded is the high-flying story of Pittsburgh brothers Jimmy and Terry Dougherty, who became marijuana smugglers in the 1970′s. Jimmy worked the ground crew and Terry was the pilot whose aviation skills helped expand the smuggling operation beyond their wildest dreams. Their adventures stretched from the farmers’ fields of rural Florida and Alabama, to the dirt runways of Colombia and back again.

I love this movie - it would make a compelling dramatized film. The characters on both sides (law enforcement and the brothers) are very personable and charismatic. The tone of this piece is lighthearted although the subject matter seems serious. Everyone in hindsight can appreciate the humor of the, sometimes tragic, situations they found themselves in and I really enjoyed it.

This proves that life can be wilder than fiction! I found myself pulling for these protagonists and their crazy adventure. I had visions of this playing out on the "Big Screen" staring Jeff Bridges and Owen Wilson! Grounded is a must see-

A fun, compelling ride about two young brothers trying to make a buck... By trafficking drugs in a small airliner. Well-produced doc from the perspective of both sides of the law. Definitely worth a watch.
