In 1989, there was a breakthrough in advanced research in human evolution on Cuttyhunk Island. Using parasites, the scientists were able to increase the physical and mental strength and awareness of the subjects, achieving promising results. When the scientists suddenly lost control of the subjects and the parasites, the island suddenly lost three quarters of its population, which led to a massive cover-up. Jamie Akerman, fled the outbreak, which took her mother's life, twenty years ago. She now returns with her boyfriend, step brother and best friend, to sell the family property. On the island, they soon discover that the previous threat might not be gone as the key to Jamie's disturbing past is uncovered. Once again the experiment threatens the island's population and, as Jamie struggles to survive and escape, some of the local islanders suspect that she has inherited more than she could ever have imagined. - 2009 NEW ARTISTS ALLIANCE. Not a bad story line, anything with bugs in adds to the erryness of a horror flick.
