Debut director Kumar Nagendra's Gundello Godari, based on the book Godavari Kathalu, the story unfolds in the backdrop of the devastating flash floods of 1986. Malli (Aadi Pinisetty) and Chitra (Lakshmi Manchu) are getting married. They are just about to settle in the occasion and are suddenly warned by the authorities about the flash floods heading towards their village. The couple is still shaken up by their individual gifts, contemplating the troubled journey together. Everyone, except the couple, runs for safety at the first sign of water. Thrown together by fate and bound by destiny, they stick to each other and make their way to the top of a floating house and narrate their past, battling their inner demons, rise above their tumultuous past and discover love.
