After many anxious years, Heramoni, mother of Mukti who had left home to join an extremist outfit is handed a mutilated bullet ridden body purportedly that of her son. The formal last rites are performed but Heramoni soon receives intimation that his death cannot be confirmed and knows not how to respond. In the meanwhile Biplob, who had left the outfit and is alone, unable to be part of the mainstream surrendered rebels, has his own problems of existence. Despite these adversities, they continue with their existence in the hope that their dreams will be fulfilled someday.
